"The Church On The Move and Built On A Solid Foundation"
Pastor's Corner

Rev. Hubert Baker grew up as a native of Troy, Alabama and the 6th
child of the late Mr. & Mrs. Will & Luvester Baker.  He began appearing at
many church functions singing songs of praise throughout Troy and
surrounding areas at the age of 9.  God has truly blessed him with the
gifts of singing, praying and preaching of His Word.  His singing wil
continue to follow him until the LORD says,’ That’s Enough”.

The Baker Family later moved from Troy, Alabama to Dayton, Ohio.  He
was an active member of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church where he
served as a Deacon, a member of the choir, Male Chorus and served in
other capacities of the church.  He accepted his Higher calling in 1968 and
preached his initial sermon and was ordained in the Ministry in December
of 1968.

Rev. Baker has attended the Baptist Ministerial Theological Extension School, Dayton, Ohio and the Birmingham Baptist College in Birmingham, Alabama.  He is married to the former Mabel L.                                                  the” J. B. Weaver Fellowship Hall”.   The street name has been changed
from Lafayette Street to Mt. Olive Square.  In 2004 Pastor Baker started
a Food Pantry and Clothing Ministry.

This Pantry provided food and clothing to members of the community

Pastor Baker along with the Hubert Baker Choraliers recorded an album entitled, “Put Your Trust In Jesus”.  He organized the group known as “Rev. Hubert Baker and The Believers”, where his three sons as well as two grandsons are also members.  God has blessed them to record several CD’s and travel to many states lifting up the name of Jesus in songs and praises, including performing at the National Baptist Convention, USA.

Rev. Baker is the founder and proprietor of “Faith Fashions”, which carries men and women, boys and girls clothing.   He is truly one of God’s chosen vessels.  He is a man of dedication, loyalty, honesty and humbleness.  One who expounds and expresses the Word of God through sermons, songs and prayers.

The Greater Mt. Olive Baptist Church No. 2 gives God the entire honor, praise and glory for sending this Shepherd to them.  They are very proud of their pastor and his family.

His motto is “Built On A Solid Foundation…A Foundation will Stand when the World Is On Fire”.  His favorite sermon is entitled “You Can’t Walk With God And Run With The Devil”.  And of course his favorite song is “He’s The Joy of My Salvation -- Yes He Is”.

His favorite scriptures are as follows:  Psalm 122:1 “I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord. And Psalm 131:1 “Behold how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to well together in unity."
